Government stimulus package

We have been advised that eligibility will be assessed from 1 April with payments being back dated to 1 January 2020.

A reminder that your business must employ less than 20 full time employees to be eligible for this funding. Guidelines haven’t been released yet, there may be other criteria that needs to be met.

1300apprentice is working closely with our Apprenticeship Network Provider to ensure that we can best support your business and will pass on 100% of this incentive. We will provide you with updates as soon as we know anything further.

The Government is supporting small business to retain their apprentices and trainees.

Eligible employers can apply for a wage subsidy of 50 per cent of the apprentice’s or trainee’s wage paid during the 9 months from 1 January 2020 to 30 September 2020. What we know so far:

  • Subsidy is available to small business employing fewer than 20 full-time employees who retain an apprentice or trainee
  • The apprentice or trainee must have been in training with a small business as at 01.03.2020
  • The subsidy applies to full time, part time or school-based apprentices and trainees
  • Eligibility is determined by the Apprenticeship Network Providers (ANP) – 1300apprentice doesn’t have the capability to determine eligibility
  • It is alleged that the amount per apprentice or trainee is capped, further details to be released
  • 1300apprentice will be required to provide payslips to the Apprenticeship Network Provider of eligible host employers, this will determine the amount of subsidy your business may be eligible for
  • Guidelines for this stimulus package are yet to be released and information provided to date is subject to change

We are working with our partnering Apprenticeship Network Provider to ensure that each of our host employers are assessed for this incentive as soon as possible and for those eligible, the incentive will be passed onto your business once received.
